About

Trust infrastructure for social commerce.

Buyers should be able to check sellers before money moves. Sellers with a real record should be able to prove it. Responsible buyers should build credibility too. We are building the infrastructure that makes all three possible.

What we do

Make social-commerce trust checkable.

Social commerce moves on Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook, and Telegram. There is no Amazon-style review system to fall back on. Every transaction is between strangers. That is the gap RatedBy fills.

We aggregate verifiable signals across confirmed deliveries, complaint patterns, identity matches, external ratings, behavioural authenticity, and reviewed buyer activity. Seller evidence becomes one record per seller. That record produces a Trust Index from 0 to 100 and a grade from A* to F. Buyers check before they pay. Sellers with a real record get visible credit for it.

Buyer Credibility adds the other side of the trust layer. Signed-in buyers build credibility through complete reports, confirmed outcomes, helpful corrections, and responsible checks. Vendors do not see private buyer telemetry; the richer context is for review, abuse prevention, and fair complaint handling.

The seller record follows the seller across handle changes, platform jumps, and rebrands. Buyer Credibility follows the buyer's RatedBy activity. Both are bounded, explainable, and designed to make informal commerce safer without turning private activity into a public spectacle.

What RatedBy is, and is not.

Clarity helps. Here is the line.

RatedBy is

  • A pre-purchase decision aid for buyers.
  • A public record of seller behaviour, with seller right of reply.
  • An identity graph that reconciles signals across platforms.
  • A system designed to resist manipulation.
  • A way for honest sellers to make their record visible.

RatedBy is not

  • A review site. Reviews are subjective. Records are evidence.
  • A complaint board. Complaints feed the record. They are not the product.
  • An escrow service. We do not hold or move money.
  • A guarantee. A grade is a decision aid, not a promise.
  • A label on a person. It is a snapshot of seller behaviour right now.

How we operate.

Six rules we hold ourselves to.

01

Evidence over opinion.

Only verifiable signals enter the record. Subjective reviews do not move the Trust Index by themselves. Behaviour does.

02

Trust is two-sided.

Sellers earn a Trust Index. Buyers build Buyer Credibility through responsible checks, complete reports, confirmed outcomes, and useful corrections.

03

The seller record belongs to the seller.

Sellers can claim their record, respond to complaints, and earn the badges that come with proof. Claiming does not change the score. Evidence does.

04

Private by default.

Phone numbers, bank accounts, emails, devices — all hashed before storage. We can identify patterns without holding personal data in the clear.

05

One record, every channel.

Web, app, WhatsApp, Telegram — same lookup, same answer. The infrastructure is the product. Distribution is a detail.

06

Calm, specific, useful.

The interface does not moralise. It does not shout. It gives you what you need to make a decision and gets out of your way.
